It seeems that today everyone is constantly busy, even kids. My friend's daughter has an extremely complicated schedule, even now that school is out. She has dance class, sports and even scheduled play dates. When does she get to be a kid? Her parents are just as bad. I've been volunteering at Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary [1], a local non-profit animal rescue group here in Las Vegas and finally convinced them to get a dog from them.
Its been a couple of months and I can see the changes in them already. They are more relaxed and can't believe it took them this long to get a dog. They both have started losing weight as well since they are taking turns walking him everyday. I've started to educate them as well about the welfare of animals in the Las Vegas area.
If you are thinking about getting a pet, please visit your local shelters FIRST. The majority of the animals there ended up in the shelter system through the fault of their prior owners. Its been proved that people who own pets live longer, healthier, less stressful lives. Save a life and gain a friend for life!
